Peter is a performance poet, writer and artist who draws on humour to get his point across. He is co-founder of Paralalia, a poetry partnership which has produced many poetry shows and published anthologies of contemporary poetry.
He has also co-written a touring multi-media poetry show, as well as two afternoon plays for BBC Radio 4 and a children’s serial for BBC radio Bristol. He was also a consultant for the BBC Radio 4 National Poetry Slams in 2007 and 2009.
Peter has performed all over the UK and won many poetry slams around the UK and beyond, including the UK Allcomers Slam Championship in 2003. He has been invited to perform in Northern Ireland, France, Germany, Czech Republic and the USA.
As a visual artist Peter has exhibited mainly in Bristol, but has facilitated many group exhibitions and community arts projects and in 2008 he combined his poetry and visual arts skills to produce a critically acclaimed poetry film for Bristol Poetry Festival.
Peter is currently living in Southampton as South East Programme Coordinator for Apples & Snakes, the country’s leading performance poetry organisation, facilitating education projects, regular performance events and supporting other poets.
He is also involved in running the Poetry & Words marquee at Glastonbury Festival and is currently working on a script for BBC Radio 4 based around poetry at Glastonbury Festival to be broadcast on Sunday June 27th 2010.
