Robin Edwards (Harry) on Living in Hope

The first week of the shoot Liam and I were bored shitless sitting around for ‘our bit’, which seemed to get put back on the schedule on an hourly basis. Finally, (Oh joy!) we were requested on set for our first scene on Friday afternoon. This scene was ‘the kitchen scene’ in which we were to create the impression of general chaos (no probs!), that’s what us lads proved we were extremely good at throughout the duration of the shoot, given the chance and an adequate supply of JD!

So how was living with ‘Off the Planet Janet’? Well living in someone’s dark cellar-room for six weeks with only a vaguely funny Irishman for company (no names but he’s in the cast) living in the next room was a truly unique experience. Liam and I would both like to thank the producer for finding his actors accommodation of such quality. (Maybe we’ll get the Winnebago’s next time Guy!)

During the following weeks we had the time of our lives, we all got on as if we’d been friends for years, I think that the fact that we did get on so well comes through in the action of the film and is due only to good casting.

My best memories of the shoot are,
(1) Meeting and working with Lorraine Chase, she was great fun.
(2) Working with the Bristol Students and their ability to make us drink too much the night before an early start.
(3) The good laughs we had on and off camera.
(4) My first on-screen snog with a gorgeous girl!

Worst memories include,
(1) Getting up at 6am.
(2) Going to bed at 3am!
(3) Wearing long johns (I didn’t tell the girl I snogged)
(4) Being stood on a stepladder in the middle of Bristol Suspension Bridge!

I had a great time making the film and would like to thank both John and Guy for their persistence when trying to sell the final film and for giving me the opportunity to be apart of something great. Cheers!
